Road Tripping to Edinburgh

We drove up the A1 and this was the first time I had seen "The Angel of the North".  I couldn't get a better photo so i found a picture for you off the internet. The statue stands 20 mtres high and has a wingspan of 54 mtres.  Pretty stunning. We found our way to our hotel and as it was late afternoon we decided to take a swim in the pool and have a leisurely dinner in the restaurant so we would be fresh to start out in the morning.  We would be catching the tram into the city. I chose carbonara for my dinner and it was delicious and OH had a chicken & wild mushroom pie which he really enjoyed.  The next morning we were up very early and started the day off by going for another swim as soon as the pool opened at 6am.  I haven't been swimming for years and had forgotten how good it makes you feel. Trips to Castles - No. 2

Raglan Castle I find it amazing that this window frame is still complete. The inside view of that window I have enjoyed my trip to Wales, so many historical sites to see here and we have been lucky with the weather.  I hope I haven't bored you too much with my castle posts but i wanted to record my visit.  Next part of my holiday i am off to surprise my Grandchildren with a visit for a few days before OH and I head back to Scotland via Edinburgh.  We aim to do as much sightseeing there as possible so I will take more photos to record that part of our trip too.
